It is located in the northeast of Navarra, 54 kilometers from Pamplona. The village is nestled in the Aezkoa Valley, bordering Aribe and Hiriberri to the north, and very close to landmarks such as the Irati Forest and Roncesvalles.
According to the official INE register for 2025, the locality has 92 inhabitants. This figure has been progressively decreasing since the mid-20th century, when a much larger population was recorded throughout the entire valley.
Garaioa celebrates its main festivals on the weekend of Corpus Christi, around June 10th. Additionally, the town celebrates Saint Andrew's Day on November 30th, and honors its patron saint, the Virgen del Carmen, on July 16th.
