Snow, silence and Pyrenean scenery

At the eastern end of the Navarrese Pyrenees, Larra-Beluaga offers one of the most unique winter landscapes in Navarre. Snow covers the karst terrain, the high-mountain pine forests and the wide slopes surrounding this enclave of the Roncal Valley, creating a setting particularly prized for Nordic skiing and winter activities.

Here, winter is experienced amidst cross-country trails, snowshoe routes and sweeping views of some of Navarre’s highest peaks. The silence of the mountains, the crisp air and the vastness of the landscape accompany every journey, both on the ski trails and along the paths that wind through the natural surroundings of Belagua.

Larra-Belagua Nordic Ski Centre – general information

The Larra-Belagua Nordic Ski Centre is located in the Roncal Valley, within the Navarran Pyrenees, and is one of the leading centres for cross-country skiing in Navarre. Its facilities are spread across several sectors, providing access to different trails, services and mountain areas.

El Ferial

This is the centre’s main hub and is situated at an altitude of between 1,600 and 1,720 metres. Most of the services are located here: equipment hire, ski school, ski pass sales, café, restaurant, shop and sauna.

La Contienda

Situated on the Larra karst, this sector stands out for its open views and trails suitable for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing. It also has a café.

La Mata de Haya

Situated in the Rincón de Belagua at a lower altitude, this area offers equipment hire and access to snow activities in a more sheltered setting.

During the snow-free months, Larra-Belagua also becomes a popular starting point for hiking trails and mountain bike routes through the high mountains of Navarre.

How to get to the Larra-Belagua Nordic Ski Centre?

Access to the centre is via the NA-1370 road, which connects Isaba with the French border.

• From Isaba: the centre is around 22 kilometres away.  
• Access road: km 55 of the Isaba-France road (NA-1370).  
• Parking: there are car parks at El Ferial and in the La Contienda area.

What is there to do at the Larra-Beluaga Nordic Ski Centre?

Larra-Beluaga allows you to enjoy the snow from different perspectives, combining sport, nature and family activities in the heart of the Pyrenees.

• Cross-country skiing: the centre has over 20 kilometres of trails spread between El Ferial and La Contienda, with routes suitable for different levels.  
• Snowshoe trails: there are signposted routes for exploring the snow-covered landscape and venturing into the karst terrain of Larra.  
• Family activities: the open, accessible areas are perfect for tobogganing, snow games and easy walks.  
• Hiking and high-altitude mountaineering: in snow-free seasons, routes lead from here to iconic spots such as the Mesa de los Tres Reyes.
• Nature and photography: the contrast between the karst, the pine forests and the snow-capped peaks makes the area one of the most photogenic landscapes in the Navarran Pyrenees.  
• Mountain cuisine: the cafés and restaurants in the town centre are the perfect place to take a break and discover the traditional cuisine of the Roncal Valley.
