Mountains and ranges

The rocks that mark the horizon

In the heights of Navarre, the rock rises and defines the landscape with a constant presence. The peaks and mountain ranges trace out a landscape where silence carries its own weight, and movement is perceived only in the flight of birds gliding along the ridges. It is a place that demands attention and exploration, where glacial traces, karst formations and mountain life coexist in harmony, ensuring that the character of Navarre’s high mountains remains present in every line of the horizon.

Why visit the mountains and ranges of Navarre?

The mountains of Navarre allow you to understand, within a single territory, the transition between Atlantic and Mediterranean influences. This contrast is reflected both in the landscape and in the diversity of ecosystems, from the Pyrenean peaks to the pre-Pyrenean ranges.

The landscape is defined by limestone formations, rugged terrain and karst systems that create a highly distinctive landscape. It is a destination particularly well-suited to activities such as hiking , mountaineering or mountain biking, thanks to its variety of routes and levels of difficulty.

Beyond the activities themselves, these mountains preserve a high level of biodiversity and traditional ways of life that remain very much alive. They function not only as a natural area, but as a region where one can observe the relationship between geology, landscape and human activity over time.
